Erasmus +project No 101128000 A.C. ARISTOTELIS
On September 22, 2024, in the city of Naoussa, Greece, a multi-sport event was held under the project No. 101128000, which is financed by the European Union and its Erasmus + program.
The event was organized by the A.C. "Aristotelis", which has already been working on the project for a whole year, together with its partners from Slovenia and Bulgaria.
The target group of the project were children of ethnic minority origin, deprived of parental care, living in migrant centres or of low social status.
The project aims to prevent intolerance, social exclusion, gender stereotypes, racism and xenophobia. The result of the project is more than satisfactory, as the little athletes proved that sport is a universal language, understandable to everyone. This was more than evident at the past event, where more than 100 children, aged 7 to 11, took part in fun games and exercises filled with mutual understanding and friendliness.
One of the specific objectives of the project is the implementation of innovative methods to attract young people to sports activities by using the values of sports and thus encouraging them to actively participate in society. An example of these innovative methods is the fun sports program "Taekwon-do for Empowerment", which the children used for 4 months.
The program was successfully implemented and produced superb results. During the event, the young participants showed understanding, humility and confidence in their own abilities and demonstrated a newfound self-confidence, qualities that we hope will help them deal with challenging situations in the future. Getting children involved in sporting activities and improving their social and communication skills will help build a safe and secure future and events like this are a great tool to achieve this.
During the event, the organizers also held the fourth transnational project meeting, where they discussed the multi-sport event, its organization, the achieved goals and successes.
At the end of the event, a closing press conference was held, attended by local media, who were informed about the results of the project and its successful completion.
